FMS Blogging Challenge-2009
Are you interested in a challenge? Ms. Ward and Mrs. Sprinkle would like to encourage you to learn more about the blog you are creating in our strategy workshop session. We will be offering a six week challenge that will help build both your knowledge and your comfort level about blogging before your blog goes live with your students. Please begin exploring your new blog.

Loved the session but it was a lot to absorb in just 30 minutes. I think we need a refresher for the refresher session. Thanks for your dedication and hard work for FMS.
I agree. Blogging is new to many of us at FMS, and we need more time to work on our blogs and learn more about the different features blogging has to offer. We will work to incorporate more time. The blog challenge will help guide us as we learn more about blogging. Thanks for attending the workshop. I can see how you could use this with your P.E. classes.
Can't wait to start blogging with class. I'm concerned about the time it takes to set it up with classes, though. Cortney
Also, I couldn't figure out how to post this comment unless I posted as "anonymous". :)
Setting up your blog takes time. If you are using Blogmeister, it does take time to set up the individual blogs. With most projects, set up is key. Once in place though, the blogging seems to run itself. Ms. Ward seems to be a great example of this. Last year, her students took to blogging like a mouse takes to cheese. They were so excited. You also need to give students proper introductions and time in the lab to establish an understanding of how blogging works. Keep working on your blog, Courtney! :)
I think our students will love this! I'm still concerned about having the proper permission from parents. May I have a copy of the form you sent home?
Thank you!
I now know what a blog is. Thank you for enlightening me. I plan to use it in my class to get students thinking about discrepant events in science. What fun!
Good luck with running this course with teachers. The first few months is a very steep learning curve. I would suggest using your own blog for at least a month before using a class one. That way you already know the problems that the students will have as they get going with their blogs.
Feel free to add my class blog onto your blogroll.
